With all the new technology around these days (including the Internet) we need to be able to learn quickly and effectively. Many people want to learn and would like to enjoy learning, therefore we need effective learning skills and ways of making learning and remembering fun and enjoyable. If people aren't able to learn then their options are limited and their employment prospects diminished.

Individuals being able to learn is only part of the solution, when companies turn on to their people they (the organisations and the people) can become far more powerful entities, they can become learning organisations.
