The Learning Organisation
Welcome to my collection of articles and writings on the topics which interest me. These include Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), David Grove's Clean Language, and Peter Senge's Learning Organisations. Like many web site owners I have lots of things I'd like to do with my site, and one day I'll get around to doing them, but for the moment I hope you find this site interesting and of value.
I recently purchased a tape set from Nightingale Conant called "Into The Genius Zone", which is all about how to enter that state of peak performance that athletes call the 'Zone'.
This tape set has helped me reach far more profound levels of relaxation than before, but I suspect that creating the Zone state takes more than just simple relaxation, so I'm playing with NLP skills, making hypnotic audio tapes to create deeper states - I'll let you know how it goes.
The idea of these skills being applied to organisations, learning organisations, is something I've not pursued in recent months, I've been busy working on the 'learning' side of things. I'll pick up again on this line of development later on.
One of the things I'm working on is to define and explain the relationship between Clean Language, NLP and the Learning Organisation.
NLP provides a powerful set of skills for developing learning and understanding, and I find them extremely useful in terms of IT training - the link here to learning organisations is obvious.
Maybe not so obvious is the role of Clean Language. I believe that it can be a powerful aid to coaching and learning, but this is the role I need to expand and develop. I'll let you know how it goes.
If peak performance lies in that state called the 'Zone', then surely NLP has a lot to offer, since NLP has a whole tool kit for accessing and anchoring states. I know I'm stating the obvious here, and that many people are already way ahead of me on this, BUT!
Like many people I've tried PhotoReading (and things like it) but with limited success. I've got suspicions that the negative patterns about learning and memory which were installed in school (in my case at least) are far more powerful than might at first be suspected, and might take more re-programming than just a quick visualisation or two.
I wondered - what would it be like to have a set of audio tapes which use hypnotic language patterns to create a deep and powerful state of relaxed concentration and re-anchor (at an unconscious level) positive states about learning and memory.
So I'm playing at creating and using such tapes, watch this space for news of what happens.
Many ask "what IS clean language?" Here's a guide to the nature of origins of Clean Language and Grovian Metaphors.
